I was able to make a nice pot of tangy tomato soup using only my own homegrown tomatoes. I used several black prince and a couple of Cherokee purples and lots of little tomatoes. I sautéd one onion, two stalks of celery, two carrots chopped fine, grated some garlic and ginger, added some vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. I added thyme and ground cloves and a bit of sugar. I cooked it till it's all soft.
Then I let it get to room temperature and refrigerate it overnight. The next day I blend it all up together and adjust my spices. Noting better than homemade soup with my own tomatoes.
I bet that tasted very good!
