Sleeping with Frozen Peas

Update this is a better photo to show the true color.

Perhaps you recall the chemical experiments that I tried several weeks ago. Well I was rewarded with at least one good one from this firing. This copper carbonate streaked small vase was brushed with a thick coat of satin clear glaze and the colors are wonderful. And I don't even like green. Well I do like green in plants, in food, but usually not in clothes or in glazes. Mostly because a good green is hard to get. In this case the copper carbonate turned a wonderful green  with small patches of a silvery luster like surface under a buttery satin clear. There's even a touch of wabi sabi with one small fingerprnt of cobalt blue on the top edge.

This is just a small pot and my photos don't do it justice. It might even be one I should have a professional photographer take photos of because I can't seem to get the depth of colors correctly. But last night I didn't get out my photo cube because I ran into the corner of the door between the studio and the kiln room head first and I have a shiner. So last night I was sleeping with frozen peas to keep the swelling down. I'll try to get more photos of the rest of the work today. Lately I feel like a walking accident waiting to happen. First my shoulder, then my knee, now my eye with a black and blue shiner. What's next. Hopefully nothing. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
