Check out Pottery Making Info Clay Blog Review for October 2015. Once again I am appreciative my blog has been included.
The last day at the farmer's market I got a wonderful bunch of purple top turnips and I decided to make roasted turnips. Would you believe I forgot to take a photo after taking the turnips out of the toaster oven? I got the recipe from Martha Stewart website. Just cut up turnips in bite sized pieces, toss with olive oil, nutmeg, cayenne pepper and roast for 45 minutes at 425 F. She called for Parmesan cheese but I forgot to use it. They were delicious even without it.
We've been getting a deluge of rain the past couple of days and today we're expecting the most. We are under a flood watch. We're up on a hill but there are many creeks in this area that are at capacity. The last market day was quite good; I even have a commission to make a platter and a large bowl. This coming Saturday is an FFA event at the farmer's market and the Kris Kringle Mountain Market is December 4 and 5 (previous dates end of November were incorrect). Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

Reading List
Leaving the post office with my new book, I decided to visit a local thrift store. For just over a dollar I picked up this book, 500 Great Books by Women. Now I can refer to this book when I'm at the library.
Be sure to check out Pottery Making Info, Clay Blog Review, for September. Thanks Brandon for such a comprehensive list of blogs for this past month and for including my blog in your review.
Today may be a wash out at the farmer's market since we're expecting a deluge of rain, but we'll be there anyway. Thankfully the market is covered so it will be easier to keep dry. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

Use A Straw
If you don't have a hole punch for clay but want to make a nice smooth hole, use a straw. You know the plastic straws you get with sweet tea. Sweet tea is every where in the South. If you don't like your tea too sweet, ask for it half and half. Seriously though, a straw works great for making a smooth hole in clay. After pushing the straw through the clay, pull it out and cut the end filled with clay off, then make the next hole.
In other news I have a pulled or torn muscle or ligament in my upper left arm. I can't lift my arm to the side more than a foot or so. I hope it's just pulled and not torn. I 've been putting an ice pack on it and it's a little bit better today. Gary also had the same injury a few weeks back in his left arm. Unfortunately he's left handed. I'm right handed. But even typing this hurts my left arm. Whoa is me, it's heck to get old. In other news Pottery Making Info shared my post about making slip and easy hump molds on Google Plus and Twitter. Thank you Pottery Making Info. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
